BUSTRIP Final Conference 08.-09.11.2007
"Looking for practical solutions for the European cities and municipalities
On the 8-9 of November 2007 in Turku, will take place Bustrip Final Conference. The aim of the meeting is looking for practical solutions and tools for the European cities and municipalities to deliver Sustainable Urban Transport.
The conference will provide an opportunity to exchange information an experience between the cities on to deliver Sustainable Transport. The conference will feature key note speakers mixed with city presentations and workshops. It is possible for participants to dring their own posters displaying related projects or process.
At the conference the outcomes of the BUSTRIP - Baltic Urban Sustainable Transport Implementation and Planning are presented; the twelve Sustainable Urban Transport Plans (SUTP) prepared by the partner cities and the SUTP toolbox, collecting all the learning experiences and good practises from the cities. The toolbox assist European cities with the opportunities available to move towards sustainable urban transport and guide them in doing their own SUTP.

Free training opportunity for transport professionals from New Member Countries
ELTIS (see below) organsises training workshops for transport professionals from New Member Countries with an interest in developing their skills in sustainable mobility. The two day training session is free of charge, but the numbers are limited. An excellent opportunity for capacity building!
The next training session will take place in Tallin/Estonia on October 15-17. The deadline for applications is the 21st of september.

SUTP and Pilot Action Workshop in Bremen 29.05- 1.06.2007
“Inspiring external and internal practical examples shared to assist the cities from theory to practice”
BUSTRIP Workshop ”Sustainable Urban Transport Planning – from theory to practice” was organized in Bremen 29 May – 1 June 2007. The workshop included site visits and practical case presentations on sustainable urban transport by guest speakers and by all BUSTRIP partner cities. The practical examples from Bremen and other German, Danish and Finnish cities as well as the pilot action presentations from all BUSTRIP cities showed inspiring good practices and gave new ideas for the around 40 representatives from partner cities.
