Pilot action evaluation report (Eng)

Quality corridor for public transport

Quality corridor is a high-level public transport connection, which serves the trend of regional structure in urban areas.

The service level of quality corridor should be higher compared to other connections of region. Characteristic for Quality Corridor is frequent timetables, high level travelling environment and fluent travel routes.

High-level travelling environment includes for instance shelters, information and short route network to bus stops. At Kouvola region the main routes of public transport based on the frequency and regional structure are Voikkaa - Kouvola- Inkeroinen, Valkeala-Kouvola and Kouvola- Koria – Elimäki.

The target of the pilot action is to increase the amount of public transport users by improving the quality of public transport services. Implementation measures at the quality corridors should increase the attractiveness of public transport.
