ITS – Public transport prioritisation

Gdynia ’s pilot action will concern the implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems. In practice it means that traffic light priority will be given to public transport.

50 buses and trolley buses will be equipped with special computer devices, which will allow them to have priority on crossroads.

The system will be installed on a section of Morska Street - the main thoroughfare of Tri-City.
The aim of traffic and travel analysis that will be conducted is to check if this idea can have a positive effect on general traffic and on the quality of travel by public transport.

The survey will be done as part of pilot action evaluation.
